About me

Hi and welcome to my website BareJournalism.

I'm Oliver Barefoot, a 19-year-old Journalist based in Sheffield, currently studying BA Journalism at The University of Sheffield.

From freelance writing to Photography, I can work in multiple different parts of the Journalism industry with experience in print, radio, broadcast and photography.

My first published feature was about Pinhoe Spartans Ability Counts Football Team, which was published on the 31st of October 2017, on DevonLive.com and in the Express And Echo Newspaper.

Since then, I have had work published on the 90 Minute website, VitalFootball Website and further articles on DevonLive and the Express And Echo, along with having nearly 6k reads on my Sportskeeda page.

To date most of my published work has been sports related with articles varying from features on local sports to an interview article with Ex Stoke City forward Ryan Brunt.

However, I have written several news based articles and movie reviews, ranging from drug related stories to box office hits.

Further more, I have created a radio show and a broadcast news video which can all be found on my youtube channel and on other parts of this website.

The reason why I am so flexible with what part of the industry I can work in is due to the ever-increasing popularity of being a journalist. By being able to work in multiple different parts of the industry, I am able to increase my working platform and work for a huge variety of clients.

Additionally, having so many different skills separates me from other freelance writers as I am able to work in different sorts of environments and can work individually to write a story, take photos, create a broadcast or a radio program.

Every piece of work that I create has one purpose, to get people talking.

I believe that if a journalist can get people questioning what they believe in, talking about what they've seen, heard or read and telling people about what they saw then that piece of work was successful.

My main aim is creating conversation starters.

As you can see, I love what I do and I hope you do too.
